Non-Contact Measurement
Many converters need to spot check the thickness/basis weight of very thin, sticky, or soft materials for their Production Setup or QC Lab. This task can be difficult, if not impossible, with a gauge that contacts the material.

Enter the new Precision SpotChecker™ from SolveTech. It is specifically designed to handle non-contact measurements that yield unprecedented accuracy and precision.

Unique Technology
The Precision SpotChecker™utilizes a unique, capacitance-based technology that works on materials that have non-conductive electrical properties. This includes plastics, paper, ceramics and non-wovens.

Coated Materials
The Precision Spotchecker™ includes a Tare feature for coated materials to obtain coating weight/thickness. No metallic or conductive coatings are allowed.

Typical Performance
In the case of plastic films, the unit can deliver results better than 0.004 mils or 0.1 microns. Specialized measurement heads with various geometries are available for specialized applications. The footprint size and gap are key variables which can be modified.

Calibration
The unit is calibrated by using a representative sample of known thickness/basis weight. Recipe tables are provided for storage of calibration information.

Data Collection
To obtain data, insert the material of interest under the head and use the foot switch (standard accessory) to trigger a reading. Multiple spots may be measured, resulting in a list which is both graphed and summarized with standard statistics. Data may be saved or exported to ExcelTM. Alarm limits may be set to give alerts for out of tolerance readings.

The Precision SpotChecker™ connects to your PC via the serial data port. The SC1000-PC software includes all of the amenities needed for effective data collection and management. This Windows©-based software package provides you with:
