–  November, 5th, 2018 – Washington, D.C. – At the November ASTM D20 reception, Rob Lawrence was given an Award of Apprieciation for his efforts on ASTM D8136.  Rob said, “I am very happy and honored to recieve the award, and I look forward to continuing to work with the ASTM.  I would like to thank Rick Fluet, Clint Boerhive, Fred Boldt and everyone on ASTM D20.19.  I would also like to give a special thanks to my father Doug Lawrence who did all the testing and development of this standard over the past 15 years.”

In a letter, an ASTM representative wrote to Rob, “On behalf of the officers of ASTM International Committee D20, it gives me great pleasure to inform you that you will be presented with D20’s Award of Appreciation in recognition of your contributions to and leadership of standards activities within ASTM International Sub-Committee D20.19 on Film, Sheeting and Molded Products. Your work and leadership towards the development of a number of ASTM D8136 and involvement in D20.19 projects is greatly appreciated by all associated with this Sub-Committee.”

Rob Lawrence and Doug Lawrence were heavily involved in the thickness gauging standard for plastic film ASTM D8136.  This standard creates a standardized way to characterize film variability.  SolveTech continues to work with the ASTM on this and other standards.

Congrats to Clint Boerhave at Raven as well!

SolveTech also encourages others in the industry to joing ASTM D20.19 and help us shape the standards that shape the film industry.  You can visit the ASTM here and become a member.
